“The most interactive presentation I’ve ever attended, it’s revolutionised my thinking about where I’m spending my time.”

— Christopher Smith, COO London Metals Exchange”

Signature Topic: ‘Get a day back’

Most leaders don’t have a time problem, they have a prioritisation problem that leads to false productivity — the illusion of being busy while adding little real value.

You can expose this illusion and give everyone in your organisation ten weeks back every year — without working harder.

In this highly interactive and entertaining keynote, Paul Holbrook uses the five colours of the Diary Detox® method to help leaders see where their time really goes.

As the audience answers questions live from their phones, the results appear live on screen — creating a profound moment of realisation as they see their collective time habits laid bare.

Blending humour, honesty, and live data insights, Get a Day Back transforms how leaders think about time, productivity, and culture.

Your audience will:

  • See their time in full colour, revealing where it’s adding value — and where it’s not.

  • Learn simple, practical strategies to reclaim a day a week without working harder.

  • Leave motivated and equipped to stop being busy — and start leading.

Not just a keynote

Paul’s keynotes don’t just inspire — they generate data.

As well as your audience leaving with new insights about where their time goes, you can also go deeper with your own Diary Detox® Insight Report.

Using live responses gathered during the keynote, this bespoke report benchmarks your organisation against those who have eradicated false productivity.

It will highlight where time is being lost across your leadership levels — and, more importantly, how much of it could be reclaimed, and where.

Meet Paul – The Time Rebel

After 20 years in financial services technology, Paul Holbrook realised the real reason leaders didn’t have time to lead wasn’t workload — it was the culture of false productivity.

So he walked away from the corporate grind and used what he learned to help organisations reclaim lost time and create healthier, higher performing teams.

As a former managing director in the City of London he created the Diary Detox® – a colour-based productivity method that gives leaders a day back in their calendar, every week – and more time to lead.

Having wowed audiences of global organisations – he’s now an accomplished keynote speaker and author of ‘What Are You Doing? The uncomfortable truth about how you waste time at work’, bringing fresh insight and humour to the way organisations approach productivity, culture and leadership.
